[227.5] – Time For Evasive Action

So when I got on the scale yesterday morning I weighed in at a whopping 229.0.  Uh oh… not good.  But honestly I wasn’t all that shocked.  Over the weekend we went to a first communion party for Nadia where I drank too much beer and ate too much pizza & pasta.  Then on Sunday we went to a Mother’s Day brunch at Wembly followed by dinner at Mom & Dad’s (complete with a couple of beers and a couple of Perfect Manhattans). 

Yesterday was a carb-free day with the exception of a couple of sausage McMuffins in the morning.  Need to kick it into gear here and march toward 220 rather than 230.

[227.5] – Told Ya So

As you can see, my weight will fluxuate quite a bit from day to day (plus or minus a pound or two).  Wednesday night I went to the Lizard and had a couple of beers toward the tour and 6 wings.  While wings are certainly not on any diet, I’ve cut down my typical 12 to 6.  I did this for two reasons.  First, eating 12 wings is not a good thing for the waistline.  Second, I wasn’t actually eating them.  I found that I was bringing home 5-6 wings just about every time I went out.  And while I love having leftover wings, it just wasn’t worth the money or hassle of getting them to go. 

Mother’s Day is coming this weekend and we’re headed to Mom & Dad’s to celebrate in the evening.  Earlier in the afternoon we’re headed to Wembly for a brunch with Amanda’s folks.  Need to watch what I eat and keep the drinking to a minimum (though I AM looking forward to a couple of Perfect Manhattans with Dad on Sunday evening.

[225.5] – Honestly

If I’m being honest here, I’m actually not quite sure how I’m as light as I am right now.  I’ve been eating like shit, drinking way too much beer and not working out.  Still shooting for the 200 barrier.  Would very much like to get there before my 6 year quit date, but I kind of doubt I’ll get there.  I’m sure that if I quit drinking beer I’d lose 20 pounds pretty quickly.  Not gonna happen… love my beer too much.  Not to mention the whole Winking Lizard World Tour that I’m doing (half way down!)

[225.5] – It’s Been A Long Time

It’s been forever and a day since I posted here… and a lot has happened in the meantime.  I got laid off in December which is never a good thing.  I won’t go into it here… suffice to say the circumstances sucked, I’m still owed money, and I’m bitter about it.  But I digress.

During my time off (I just started a new 6 month contract), I joined Snap Fitness and really started working on my weight.  I’m happy to say that I’ve been down in the low/mid 220′s now for nearly two months!  In the last couple of weeks since I started working again, I’ve been slacking on the gym.  OK, slacking would be a bit of an understatement… I haven’t gone.  However, I’m committed to not letting all that hard work go to waste.  I need to find a way to work it back into the routine.

In addition, Amanda had me order the Digest Diet book which apparently is some 21 day crash course thing that starts with 4 days of juice/fasting and then goes into some sort of program which will teach you how to eat stuff that will help you lose weight.  Book is supposed to show up in a couple of weeks… we’ll see.

[232.5] – Headed In The Right Direction

So I went and returned from my big trip to Indianapolis…. When I returned and got on the scale Monday morning, the number was about what I expected – 237.0.  I’m happy to report that with a little bit of vigilance (and what I’m guessing was quite a bit of beer/water weight) I’m back to a pre-trip weight this AM.  Not much on the horizon in terms of potential pitfalls with the possible exception of a work dinner tomorrow night (at BW3) and poker on Saturday night.  Luckily the work meeting is during the week so I’ll keep beer to minimum there and I don’t like to drink a ton while I play cards so both should be not too tough to deal with.

How Bad Will It Be?

Got home today from my trip to see my buddy this weekend.  We had an absolute awesome time this weekend and I’m already looking forward to when he comes to visit in April.  I can honestly say that I didn’t eat all that bad this weekend and while I had more than my fair share of beer we didn’t get SUPER stupid as we have in past years.  What can I say… age is catching up to us in the partying department ;)   I’m interested to see what the number says in the morning… We’ll see.

[233.5] – Rolling

Been a while since I posted and I’m super busy at work so I’m going to keep this short.  To be fair and honest, haven’t been eating all that great lately, and yet I’m still down a few lbs which is a great thing.  That said, I’m not eating TERRIBLY either, so I’ve got that going for me.

Also, I’ve really HAVE been thinking about what I’ve been eating.  We went to Chili’s the other night for dinner and I passed on the beer.  I can’t for the life of me remember the last time I didn’t get a beer there.  Alas, I’m going to have more than my fair share of beer this weekend in Indy.  Can’t wait!

[233.5] – Gotta Keep Posting

I started posting on this blog about my weight loss to keep myself accountable.  That’s not to suggest that anyone is reading this drivel, but just as accountability is key to success on KillTheCan.org, I strongly believe that it will work for me here as well.

The last couple of days I haven’t been eating all that great, but I’m still putting up “decent” numbers.  This naturally leads me down the path of questioning my plan, what I can and cannot eat, etc.  I will say that I’ve cut WAY back on the junk food (specifically fries/burgers) over the last couple of weeks.

Tomorrow should be an interesting weigh in… didn’t eat all that great today, and had a couple of drinks this evening at a networking event.  We’ll see!

[236.0] – No Surprise

As per last night’s post, today’s number was not a surprise.  Back at it again today eating decently (sandwich for lunch, soup for dinner).  On top of a bad number this AM, I woke up feeling completely like shit.  Ears, alternating runny and stuffy nose, sore throat and sneezing galore.  As I write this tonight, I’m also dealing with itchy/puffy eyes which is just tremendous (note the sarcasm).  On to tomorrow!

It’s Gonna Be Bad

So I didn’t write a post on Friday but the number at that point was 232.5.  However, it’s Monday night (Labor Day) and I’m scared to see the number I’m going to post tomorrow.  It’s been a long weekend of celebrating the holiday, hanging out with the family and having plenty of good food and drink.  Not that I went super crazy or anything, but I did have a piece of pie the other night at mom & dad’s and had more than a few drinks over the weekend.  So… I’m guessing we’re going to take a step back tomorrow.
